Ever play a game and wish you could design levels for it cause your ideas are so much better than the ones the developers had? Ever want to know how much fun it is to design levels for a game? Well now you can! My latest puzzle game is meant to be HUGE! By huge I mean at least 200 built in levels! That's just the built in ones, we have plans for stuff like auto updating level sets and stuff but i wont go into those now cause right now the built in ones will be the ones to concentrate on. 25 or possibly 50 built in levels will be made by fans.
So, if you want to have a hand in making this game, now's your chance! While TwinsenDude (I shall still call him that even though he changed his alias to -orb-, cause i can) and I work on the real levels (and the rest of the graphics), YOU, that is ANYONE WHO WANTS TO, can make levels now and begin to learn the game.
A few things before i give the link.
1. READ THE OPENING PART OF THE SWF! It gives brief descriptions of the game (the sequel to Blockslide, the game that got me my first award, look it up) and the blocks because I won't release the tutorial set of levels yet as it is still in development. So read them! And play with the engine.
2. The instructions on the page are important, they tell you how to make levels and how to submit them to me.
3. The graphics are not final and many of them are just placeholders, and the GUI is obviously not final.
So here's the link
So who can enter? Anyone who wants to! As long as you are not TwinsenDude/-orb-, me, or one of the main level designers for the game, you can enter this. You can enter as many levels as you want to!
What do you get if i put your level in the game? Well 25-50 of the levels get in (depending on the amount of quality entries). You get your level in the game, credit for the level, and a clickable link to your website or a site of your choice (myspaces, freewebs, blogs, NG profiles, etc) in the level's description.
I MIGHT offer prizes if I can arrange it, like small cash prizes or web hosting or something, but don't count on it. If i do choose to do this you will hear so in another update.
And stop naming the levels "FIRE AND ICE". I've had enough of those.
Yes, this is pretty much what I've been doing for 2 months. Along with other things. |
